Swindle the Toy Seller

31 July 2009

In my entry on review of the deluxe class Swindle from the Transformers Animated series, I promised a Comic strip. I explore the consistency of Swindle's character if he was a Toy seller instead of a fire armed dealer.

Starring my Swindle, Blackarachnia and The Fallen and guest starring Lugnut. Here is it.

Disclaimer: The events depicted in this movie comic strip are fictitious. Any similarity to any person living or dead is merely coincidental.

Isn't that true? Somehow I felt happier doing this comic strip. I wonder why. LOL Well. Rate it if you like it! :D

Deluxe Class Transformers Animated Swindle

30 July 2009

It's been sometime since I review Transformers Animated toy regardless the cartoon had ended. Given a choice between the Transformers Animated Toys and the new movies toy, I will choose the Animated version every other day and twice on Sunday. Movie version often lost it appeal to me over time.

Moving on to the review Swindle, is a money minded Decepticon as a fire arms dealer that provide many destructive needs of the Decepticon.

He is constantly selling something in the animated series. Apparently, Megatron was his biggest customer.

More information regarding Swindle can be found on the back of the card.

For the first time, I notice there actually have a Transformers Collectors' club from Hasbro. Hm... Maybe I should join them.

Okay time to Open the Toy!

Out of the package, you will get a missile, missile launcher and Swindle in his armored Humvee-styled vehicle form. I just love the his color tone, the purple and dirty green.

Vehicle Mode
The vehicle design was an armored Humvee-styled vehicle with roof-mounted cannon. When the cannon is mounted on Swindle in vehicle mode, the cannon seems to be oversize.

With the size of that "Scatter blaster", I wonder will Swindle suffer a recoil a upon fired.

The Transformation was manageable with the help of the instruction sheet.

Robot Mode
Personally, I love the robot design of Swindle. The front and the back view show a proportion body but the side kind of make him look Flat.

Swindle comes with a handsome looking face. Always smiling. You never know what he is thinking looking to his big purple eyes but I am pretty sure Money was always on his mind.

His hands was unique in the toy series as his hands are made out of purple translucent plastic. Look real cool to me.

Due to the fact he is an arms dealer, he is always loaded with lots of fire power. He got guns mounted on his shoulders and a chain gun that appear from his chest should he need extra fire power. In the animated series, he store his goods in a Transwarp-based hammerspace in his chest.

His primary fire power remain on his Scatter Canon. A nice touch was put into the cannon toy.
Before loading the cannon remain very much purple.

But when the missile is loaded in, the Orange strips will appear. Load and ready to fire away.

In short, the toy very much stay true to how I remember Swindle. A smooth talking Decepticon who was always looking out to make a profit. That bring us to the end of the review.

What? No comic strip after the review? But we always have comic strips after every review!!!
Okay fed not. Due to this lengthy review, the comic strip will be following shortly. It would be fun, I promise. Come back tomorrow! :D

Updated: Here is the comic Strip I promised.

29 July 2009

Nike and Hasbro have come together to create a Limited Edition Nike x Transformers basketball shoes Collection commemorating the worldwide premiere of the Transformers film sequel.

The collaboration includes the Nike Zoom Flight Club (Megatron)

Nike Zoom FP (Bumblebee)

and Nike Sharkalaid(Soundwave).

They are complete with the nostalgic toy boxes with original Hasbro graphics and vibrant color. The shoe packaging complete with J-hooks for hanging display and decoder profiles on the back of the boxes that highlight each robot’s powers.

It was said that Nike Transformer shoes will be available in limited quantities in China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan and the U.S. at House of Hoops this month. The Nike Zoom FP (Bumblebee) and Nike Sharkalaid (soundwave) are estimated to cost $100 USD and the Nike Zoom Flight Club (Megatron) will be $120 USD.

Not surprising that Megatron is more pricey but where is Optimus Prime?! I love everyone of them tho.

This Old Man, Jetfire

28 July 2009

"This old man, he played one,
he played nick nack on my thumb.
With a nick nack paddy whack,
give a dog a bone,
this old man came rolling home."

Well I get "this old man", my legend class Jetfire on a diplomatic mission to give my dog, Oreo a bone as a token of peace.

It was proved once again that my dog is not interested with my toys unless of course they are soft toy that comes with squeaking sound.

Well done Jetfire. Mission a success. Peace out!

Vader Invasion: How many Vader do you have?

25 July 2009

Darth Vader, an icon and the soul of Starwars. Knowing or unknowing, Darth Vader had invaded us more than we know it. With the multitudes of merchandises created through out his 20 years reign, Starwars collectors will agree on that there have one or more Darth Vader related merchandise in their collections. That make me wonder just how many Darth Vader in their collections. So I decided to find the answer and I hope fellow toy collectors who are reading this entry will join me on this quest.

If you have any Darth Vader merchandises and would like to join the game, here what you can do:

  1. Create an entry on your blog with link to this entry and share with us in writing and photos on your Vader related collections.
  2. Leave a comment on this entry with your entry link so that I can add a link to your entry.
  3. One thing to remember, the topic is Darth Vader which mean when he is in the dark suit serving the Emperor and not when he was still known as Anakin Skywalker. So anything related to Darth Vader period with Darth Vader is acceptable such as his lightsaber, Tie fighter but not the stormtroopers. :)

To start the ball rolling, here's how Darth Vader invaded my collections.

No.1 & 2: Darth Vader Mask and Vader's lightsaber candy
This is a cheap light plastic Darth Vader mask I bought about 10 year ago. Today it is sitting at a section of my cupboard along with some other toys and books. If my memory serve me well, it was on sales $5 during a clearance sales.

As for the Vader's lightsaber on the right, it was a liquid candy container. When I saw that, I bought off instantly together with another Jedi lightsaber(on the left). I don't really enjoy the liquid candy though...Who cares, I just want the saber for display.

No.3 : Concept Darth Vader R.M'quarrie Signature Series.
This is one of my favorite Darth Vader figure. It comes with 2 changeable heads and a Coin. I decided to keep this mint as I really like the card art.

No.4 : Darth Vader Revenge of the Sith
I got this vader as the cape is cloth. I didn't open this guy up as it was kept in my storage area. I dig him out to number my vaders.

No.5 : Darth Vader from Empire Strike Back.
One thing about loose vader is that you can't remember where exactly you got it from as the packaging is being thrown away donkey years ago. As far as I can recall, this came in a blue packaging from Hasbro. Around the same time when they are selling Episode 2 period. The cape felt like soft rubbery and the lightsaber blade is attachable. The hand has a magnet to kinda do the force thingy. Pretty cool Vader and that's why I got it.

No.6: Darth Vader from breakfast cereal.
I got this Vader display from a breakfast cereal during Episode 2 period too! I used to display this on former office desk but brought it home when I changed my job. So that's retirement for him. LOL

No.7: Tomy Darth Vader's lightsaber keychain.
I remember getting this series from a Capsule Machine. Had a few try and finally got this precious. You can on the light by a switch but apparently it ran out of batteries.

No.8: Kubrick Darth Vader.
I felt in love with this Darth Vader when the series of Kubrick came out couples of years back.

Why I fancy him? Simply because of this.

In conclusion, a total of 8 Vader items I had for a small time collector like me. :)

So that wrap up all my Vader Invasion. I am sure Vader taken some territories in your collection too. So join in the fun as we share our Darth Vader collections. Remember to leave your comment of your link so I can link it over at this post. ;)
