Ghostbusters the Video Game on PSP Review

If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call?

After over more than a decade, finally we get to have "Ghostbusters" game over various platform. Better late than never I say.

The story bring the player to be a new rookie joining the original Ghostbusters team to revisit some of the famous scenes, characters and ghosts in the movies. The character's voices sounded like the original actor and actresses from the movie with some of the movie quotes of course.

Although the game allow you, the new Ghostbuster rookie to choose your own gender, it doesn't contribute any factor in terms of storyline. They are various cool gadgets which is from the movies in the game.

Wow! Talk about telekinetic activity, look at this mess!

When you spotted a ghost, that's where the fun begin!

We got one!

Load your proton pack, aimed and fire!

I ain't 'fraid a no ghost!

Just wear the ghost down by blasting your proton beam. Don't worry about breaking anything (you get more point by blasting more things) but keep an eye on the heat meter of your equipment. Once it overheated, it will stalled and that is the time ghost will strike you back. Once the meter of the ghost turn blank, it is time to trap it!

Nice shooting Tex!

When you are slimed or faint, you are at the mercy of your teammate to revile you if they happen to be nearby and not slimed themselves. Therefore it is your duty to help them out when they are down so that they in turn can keep you alive. Trust me, you need all the help you can get in this game.

For fans of the movies, you will encounter the characters in first movie of The Ghostbusters such as Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer, the grey lady in the library and much more. You will get another chance to be at the roof top to blast the Marshmallow Man again but this time no question asking if you are a god.

"I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft!"

You will need to be a master of your weaponry as you advance in levels. Just keep busting, it won't get wrong!

Busting make me feel so good!

Overall I give 4/5 stars for this new Ghostbusters game. If you are a fan of this 80s pop culture movie like me, you will be able to find many easter eggs through out the game. Just keep your eyes open to spot them. ;)

@sei.mn
Your childhood time is the cartoon (the real ghostbusters) or the movie?

@Dennis
Don't worry, he will always return by popular demand.

@desmond
If you have other game console, you can get them too. Only Wii and PSP version is cute version. Xbox360 and PS3 are the one which like exactly like you are in the movie. Those ghost maybe scary as the lightings are deem like silent hill. I would very much like to play that version but I do not have those console...:(
Ghostbuster.... that is classic down to memory lane....

I miss the toy items in the 80s and 90s....

Cheers...
