Rumor about K-ON! in Asia

The following maybe a rumor but on the topic IF it is true, how will it affect the K-On! fan?

Rumor has it that someone bought over K-ON! Ownership in Japan and someone within our region is bidding for license for K-ON! products which maybe airing the anime in our region channel. If that happen, some of the toys may have to pay royalties to the right owners resulting on collectors to pay a higher price for the products. So far there was a delay in the latest K-ON! Nendoroid, I wonder if it has to do with this rumor.

On the topic. is rights and licensing really a good thing? It's not like there are bootleg toys or any piracy going on here. All this happen because K-ON! fever is catching up. Is this monopolization for momentary gain?

If such things can come true, I fear the future of Anime, cosplay and other Anime related mechanizes. End of the day, the poor "Otaku" fan gets to bite the bullet.

How will this affect the collectors and lover of K-ON! Anime? I hope this is just a rumor.

Monopoly is not just a game of Parker Brothers... many companies r merging or being purchased by larger ones, it happens in other industry segments, so it wouldn’t b a great surprise in toys business =( ... obviously, collection figures will become more & more expensive, but what bout V-A-R-I-E-T-Y ??? ... in my experience, monopolies mean less options to choose, more standarization... the mono-type collectors will love it but who cares bout the multitype collectors like me & others ??? i supose that i’m not the only one...

Hmm.. this can turn out to be a really serious matter. But mark up the price won't do them good since it is definitely gonna reduce the sales and encourage the production of bootleg figure.

Luckily I'm not a K-On fans
I'm not a K-On fan but for collectors to pay a higher for anime product seems like a bad idea. Well, don't think we can do much about it.

@Chrismandesign

@moemoekyun

@kluxorious
Indeed

@chubbybots
I hope it is not a thread for monoploy but I can see this won't be the last...

@B-mecha
Lucky I was not into K-ON! too.

@Dennis
We can do something about it. When the buying stop...
Well.. I think most people (especially the K-On fan) would hope that this is just a rumor...

But the economic situation in Japan is not that good... for company and individual... the situation is really sucks now... big money talks, cash is king... so this may not be impossible as well... just maybe...

Big boy like Bandai heavily pushing for maximum productions from their figure factory (Tamashii) in China coz they know most of the big buyers now are from outside Japan, the China productions stuff can bring more income (and maybe profit) than the GunPla (as Bandai still produced it in Japan factory) but Bandai can't just give up the GunPla division coz it's the heart and soul of their company.

Back to K-On... I just want to get the Figma and that's about it...

The only thing I worried about the possible new owner is if they start to change the anime direction... as for the figures price increase, that eventually will happen especially if the oil price goes up to the sky again anyway...
