Grim Reaper Playmobil Fi?ures Series 1

Guess who's coming for Halloween?

Is it a Vampire? No not the fagged Twilight type of Vampire. Those old classic blood thirsting Vampire? Wait! It is removing his cape!

Now he look more like a undead Zombie...but who is he?

If you must know, he is a Grim Reaper.

This is the third packed of Playmobil Fi?ures that I have opened and instead of having wrong part like my previous encounter, this undead came with additional hand. Believe me I do not think it is on purpose. The quality control in the packing procedure is worrying...

Aside from having additional parts, he come with a spooky grin that will send a shiver down your spine. Parts of the body are painted with glow in the paint which look really cool when it is in a dark room.

This undead Playmobil is bare footed. You can see the toes which is a rare sight.

Beside having a cape, he comes with a hat too.

A Scythe is the choice of Grim Reaper for sure.

It is interesting to see the interpretation of Grim Ripper in Playmobil form. It is more modern looking compare to the hooded and unmasked form.

Nevertheless, it is still as scary as it can be especially in this alternate shot of him. Can you see the fire in his eyes?

Is he scary enough for you for this Halloween?

Custom OTTi by Caramelaw

For these Halloween, OTTi (the mascot of this site) is dolled up for the event. Apparently OTTi cosplay as Grumpie the Clown.

Under talented artist of Caramelaw who transformed a blank Baby Qee to be OTTi in colorful, candies outfit. This is one of it's kind custom!

Let's go down in details shall we? You can see all around OTTi were decorated by small furry balls around the hat and the neck. At the back of OTTi, a pretty blue wings. See how the lively colors blend together?

The charming logo of Caramelaw painted on the left forehead of OTTi. Love it!

Caramelaw gave OTTi a puppy looking eyes rather than the usual angry eyes of OTTi .

I would say a lot of effort were put on the details of tall hat of OTTi. You can see the layers of handmade pieces giving the 3D effects.

The red lolly look tasty.

And on the tip of the hat, a cute little purple heart.

I am totally impressed by Caramelaw painting skills and she hand painted with such neat details. The arrangement of the color and the design work really well. No wonder she had so many wonderful doll custom from all around the world!

It is great to see how well OTTi look in Caramelaw's candy style which look sweet but not too girly at the same time.

It was a great honor to an established artist to do up this OTTi custom for me. You can see more wonderful works of Caramelaw over at her website. Go over and I am pretty sure you will be a fan of her work after reading. :)

Revoltech Pixar Figure Collection Nemo and Wall.E

Revoltech following the success of Woody and Buzzlightyears, Revoltech will release more Pixar Figure Collection in mid December 2011 and they are a branch of cuties. They are Nemo from Finding Nemo and Wall.E.

Let's talk about Nemo. One of the character in Pixar series which has less worthy toy for such a popular character and series. Revoltech face the challenge of how to make a fish toy interesting. Nemo was not alone, the forgetful auntie Dory is with him. For a moment I mistaken Nemo for his father, Marlin since Dory was there.

When I see one side having a smaller fin, I know that is Nemo. Revoltech had made the toy more interesting by giving them different expression.

As for No.002, it would be the cute and faithful robot, Wall.E The paint job and other details are great on this toy. Just look at the rust and dirty paints on Wall.E/

Wall.E comes with many accessories from the scene of the movie such as the compressed metal box and the plant in shoes...

Not forgetting the fire extinguisher that cause him to dance in space and Wall.E ability to transformed himself to a box.

I am pretty sure Eve maybe in the pipeline since Wall.E is made.

Both of these toys are priced at 1,800 Yen when it released in mid December this year. I am pretty sure these will be hot especially Wall.E.

So fan of Pixar, look out for these!

Playmobil Fi?ures Series 1: Dragon Knights

I read and blog about Playmobil Fi?ures series1 sometime back. My patience paid off as I finally saw the blind pack on sale in Singapore retail. Without much hestiation, I went ahead to buy a couple of these since the pricing is cheaper than the Lego Minifigures.

Like many others, I did not just buy any random pack as I was aiming for some particular figures in this series. So I adopted the feeling method and that surely increased my odds however I was still not that good so I did hit and missed some in the process. One of the factor was I didn't expect the figure parts to be separated so it is hard to feel every small parts inside the packages. Here let me show you how it was like out of packaging.

Yes I got the Dragon Knight. Wicked right? There was instruction to show how to assemble the figure. Seriously this is the first time I put together a playmobil figure although I have couple of them in my childhood but never once I assemble or disassemble them in such condition.

Allow me to show you the parts and process together.. Firstly the legs

Next the belt and the body.

There is only one way to put the belt on and therefore have the belt to go unto the body before putting on the hands.

Then you put on the hands

The Dragon knight come with an armor shoulder blade which the dragon wings to be fitted. We will touch on that much later. Now put on the head. At this point notice the eye was drew half way higher than the usual mold. The eyes do look cheeky.

The hair was more like a chain mall in metallic.

The Dragon Knight's helmet comes with three pieces to form the helmet.

The helmet kept true to knight helmet which enable the helmet to pull down or pushing up the face piece.

I notice the hand paint stroke on the helmet.

The standard of the weapons allocated to the knights were Crossbow, tower shield and a sword.

The design of the crossbow fit on the playmobil's hand pretty well. Good effort.

When I equipped him with his sword, I saw the transformation of Playmobil's hands. See how the arms joints able to do rotation?

When the sword is not in play, the sword can be fitted on the belt.

Next part to assemble will be the Dragon wing on the Knights. The wings gave the flexibility to pose and to use.

My fun was short live as I discovered my packet comes with two right wings...

Could this be accidental?

Thank goodness the other blind pack I got was the Dragon Knights and everything was in order. So now I have two Dragon Knights.

I have not much intention to build army for this Dragon Knights. I was a bit disappointed to have an incomplete parts in the series.

I will review some more blind pack which I got later. :)
