More than a year ago, Bandai show a prototype of Super Saiyan 3 Goku in S.H.Figuarts. It got me very excited and I had a long wait for that.
Just last week news of Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku was released along with photos. Normally I should be excited but somehow I was not so excited as I thought. Why?
In my opinion, the hair of Super Saiyan 3 of Goku doesn't seems right. The hair should be longer and thicker but it look so much like a porcupine or "Duran" looking. It just doesn't seems like Super Saiyan 3.
Secondly, I thought there would have special effect like the one I saw a year ago (refer to the first picture of this post).
The final point of breaking come when I read this figure like Super Saiyan Vegeta is a Tamashii Web Exclusive.That mean it is for Japan only and it is limited figure releasing in March 2012 at 4,725 Yen. Much more expensive than Super Saiyan Vegeta which is going for 3465 yen.
This further my confirm of my prediction that all if not most Dragonball series in S.H.Figuarts goes to pre-order exclusive due to the aging and limited fan base as now most anime lover goes for MOE and lady heroines. I mean that make sense as it is better to get pre-orders in order to make the figures.
I don't know about you but that seriously dampen my mood on collecting these as I will have to pay much more to get this figure which may not make economical sense.
Unlike MOE or hype trend of no strong and long history of Japanese toys, this is harder to fish in the pre-order. Anyway no harm as it is limited production anyway and that is why the cost is higher as price of production already summed it in.
