Hatsune Miku Append Updates

30 April 2010

It's vocaloid friday and here's a quick updates of what is happening in the world of Vocaloid.

Hatsune Miku Append
Hatsune Miku Append is the additional audio library pack to add the expression of various voices to virtual Singer, Hatsune Miku. In line with the release, an awesome figure of Hatsune Miku was produced.

Behold, Hatsune Miku Append!

The feeling of this figure is like weightless. The semi translucent blue tone hair...The feature of Hatsune Miku was very well done with a change of her usual square hair bands on both side.

Breaking away from her traditional costume, this is very much a Plugsuit which bring out the beauty of Hatsune Miku's slim body.

Anyway the Software of Hatsune Miku Append include further enhancement of the mood in the voice of Hatsume Miku such as Soft, Dark, Solid, Vivid, Sweet and Light.

For the release of Hatsune Miku Append software can be found here in Japanese.
For the detail of the figure is here in Japanese.

Personally this Hatsune Miku's figure was a love at first sight for me.

PS3 Project Diva, Dreamy Theater
Coming in Summer, Project Diva goes to PS3! Some said that the version is the same as PSP but better and smoother graphic. Well I am not complaining as I really enjoy the game watch Miku doing her dance and the camera angle.

If I have a PS3 (I pray hard for the end of the year), I will certainly get this game. By the way, the saved game on PSP can be transfered to the PS3 version but I think I will replay all over again. XD

Pullip Dolls Beginner Guide

26 April 2010

Not too long ago I came to know a fellow toy collector who's wife is a big fan of Pullip dolls. When it comes to doll, I am a noob but I am interested to learn more about Pullip dolls and they were kind enough to share information on this dolls with me. So to the benefit for all, here writing and photos by kelvin255 and his wife Akane* on Pullip dolls.

Pullip is an Asian fashion doll series that has been gaining popularity locally in recent years. The main characters in the Pullip line are Pullip (the main doll), Taeyang (male doll and Pullip's boyfriend), Dal (Taeyang's little sister) and Byul (latest doll, Dal's best friend).

* Pullips in box. The smaller ones are Little Dals.

* Pullip Lan Ai in stock clothes.

* Pullip Papin. Her stock wig has been changed to this.

A stock Pullip doll already has many playable features like eyes that can glance left/right and eyelids that can close, giving the appearance of sleeping or winking. (Dals and Byuls do not have closing eyes though.)

* A Pullip 'sleeping'.

Pullip owners will go one step further and change the stock body to one that has more articulation and can pose better. The most popular bodies are Obitsu. They have good articulation and, more importantly (at least to me!) changeable hands.

* Without these grabby hands, Pullips wouldn't be able to eat! =P

* More hand uses.

* Dangerous use of these hands! =O

Most owners will also change the wigs (hairstyle and colour), eyechips (eye colour and details) and makeup to make their doll uniquely their own and OOAK (one of a kind).

Stock Pullip Suiseiseki

Same doll with different wig, giving her a whole different look and personality!

There's all for now. More of Pullip later.

Space Theme Doraemon Mcdonald Happy Meal

Mcdonald Happy Meal once again is offering Doraemon collectibles. This time is a Space theme and not soft toys.

There are total of 6 design to choose from.

Doraemon in Space Suit and so was his sister Doremi

Among the collections, this Doraemon being chased by a mouse seems rather out of place. Most of these Doraemon toys comes with action parts which can be good toys for kids.

It just begin this week, so Doraemon fans, start your engine. :P

R.I.D Optimus Prime + Ultra Magnus = Omega Prime

24 April 2010

This is a guest post from my friend,TunePimpJ03. I didn't know he was a Transformers fan until I visited his house and found some gems. At my request, he is sharing his toy photos (taken by himself) and a short write-up with us today. So over to TunePimpJ03

Like many men in their thirties, I was a huge fan of the Transformers.
(I'm no longer one now, or at least not as crazy as those who paste Transformer decals/stickers on their cars!)

As a kid, I was fortunate enough to own a few Transformers toys (though I really wished my parents would buy me more!), such as (lol please pardon me, I don't remember their names) 2 cassette tapes that transform into a stegasaurus and t-rex, a two-nosed fighter plane, 5 sea creatures that can combine into a robot, a triceratops. All these, I had before the age of 10.
My parents probably knew I had grown tired of them and got rid of them without my knowing.

The latest addition to my collection was the R.I.D Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus figures that I bought about 7 years ago. Back then, barely few years into the workforce, I came across an article that featured the toys.

I knew I had to get them no matter what. I immediately went to the Toys-R-Us store at the Forum Shopping Mall. I was filled with excitement and anticipation as I walked into the store and at the same time, I was worried that they would be sold out as they were supposedly collectibles.

These toys were sold separately back then. I left the store $140 poorer. Each one cost $70.
The last time I checked, the two figures are sold in a single package at about $160 USD on eBay.
Apparently, they are still highly sought-after, 7 years after they were launched.

Here's some pictures of the my Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus to you.

Ultra Magnus' (Robot Mode)

Ultra Magnus' Weapon, can be vehicle mounted, mounted on Omega Prime's shoudlers, or transforms into a gun

Behold Omega Prime.

Weapons Extended.

It is unfortunate that plastics, though non-biodegradable, do become brittle and discolour. Even rubber hardens and loses elasticity. After 7 years of sitting on the shelves, it was a pain trying to transform the toys into their different forms. Some joints were loose, some had gotten stiff. I had to be extremely careful to avoiding breaking the plastic joints. I would give the toys another 7 years before they start to fall apart. LOL

I hope these pictures bring back memories of the good old days when as a kid, all we had to do was go to school, finish homework, and watch Transformers. Autobots! Roll out!
